Course Overview

The Master of Arts (Education) program empowers students to cultivate a sustained and critically engaged understanding of the field of Education, especially within the context of its emergence and growth in India.

This program aims to foster an appreciation of how education has been influenced by fundamental disciplines such as Philosophy, Sociology, History, and Psychology. These disciplines are recognized as the foundational pillars of education. Consequently, the program equips students to specialize in their areas of interest, catering to diverse educational levels, ranging from preschool, elementary, secondary, or senior secondary schooling to higher education. It also facilitates the development of the skillset and competency necessary to comprehensively engage with various aspects of education policies and programs.

The core objectives of the Master’s program are defined with a steadfast commitment to promoting democratic values, equality, and equity within the educational context.

By offering a combination of core and optional courses, the program ensures that students establish a strong foundational knowledge base. Simultaneously, it empowers them to pursue their specific interests and specializations from a curriculum that encompasses various subjects, disciplines, and thematic areas.

Through this program, students have the opportunity to gain specialization by selecting optional courses, engaging with both basic and advanced levels of various subjects, and conducting research on specific dissertation topics. 

Eligibility – Graduation in any stream with 50% marks
