Ph.D. Music
Course Overview
The Ph.D. program enables students to specialize in Indian classical music.
Upon completion, students have various career options, including teaching at the school, college, or university level, working as professional performers on social media, joining the faculty of a university, or pursuing vocational courses in other music-related fields such as composition, music direction, or playback singing. The Ph.D. program was inaugurated in the 2016-17 academic year within the Department of Music at Eternal University.
The first semester of the program focuses on research methodology and the study of research elements in music.
In the second semester, students engage in synopsis writing and attend seminars for topic approval.
Given the vastness of music as a subject, there is ample scope for research, whether from a historical perspective or in its relation to other disciplines.
At Eternal University, we not only encourage research in classical music but also in other music branches such as Divine Music, Folk Music, Music from other Nations, Technical Music, Music Therapy, and more.
